It’s important to us that every employee has the opportunity to reach their full potential. There is a huge range of learning opportunities and activities for both clinical and non-clinical staff. This includes our functional skills development, apprenticeships, T-Levels, work experience and our highly rated preceptorships. You will have your own development plan, linked into the appraisal process and the support of your line manager to follow your ambitions.

You’re encouraged to take control of your own development and identify courses and learning opportunities that will specifically benefit you. Options include management development, clinical skills training, personal skills, IT and health and safety.

We also run career clinics. They help you to explore your future potential and options – you can plan the way forward and gain specific developmental support.

You will be given every opportunity to progress your career – which could mean specialising or earning promotions. As a large trust with many specialist departments across three major hospitals, there is an array of choices to develop your career in many different directions.
